| Enlisted berthing looking to port (probably a forward berthing space). The crew slept in racks stacked 3 high forming cubicles of 12 racks. The head and showers are at right. The bottom rack was "triced" up so sweepers could clean underneath. Each sailor had a locker in his rack for general items, and a stand up locker for dress uniforms. The clothes hamper is seen at the far bulkhead. Senior enlisted slept along the outer bulkhead. (US Navy photo). |
